Video of Barangay Captain Releasing 1000 Frogs To Stop Spread Of Dengue

BARANGAY CAPTAIN – Here’s the video of the Barangay Captain releasing at least a thousand bullfrogs to curb the spread of dengue.

Earlier this month, the Department of Health (DOH) has declared a national dengue alert. The dengue vaccine “dengvaxia” was pulled out from the Philippine market due to the alleged death of some patients.

Following a previous article, Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte said he’s okay with the return of the dengue vaccine in the county to address the epidemic. Hundreds of people have died due to the deadly virus.

Recently, a video of an intuitive Barangay Captain went viral on social media. It was shared on the Facebook Page of Barangay Matandang Balara –Action Forward. The video has generated 112 reactions, 32 shares, and 2.6 views as of this writing.

A Barangay in Quezon City has made a quite leap in the issue of deadly mosquitoes in the country. Barangay Captain Allan Franza released at least a thousand bullfrogs in their canals to stop the spread of dengue.

Based on a report from CNN Philippines, from January 1 to August 3 the dengue virus has affected 188,562 people all over the county and caused the death of 807 patients. That the reason why the public officials try to combat the epidemic in their own way because of these alarming numbers.

The Barangay Captain believed that the bullfrogs will help curb the breeding of dengue-carrying mosquitos in the esteros. We can all hope that his plan was a success and will be followed by another community. The government previously advised all the Filipinos that by fumigation and by cleaning the surrounding could help halt the spread of dengue.
