Monsoon Rains Expected Over Parts of PH After Typhoon Hanna Exits PAR, PAGASA Says

The state weather bureau PAGASA said that monsoon rains are expected over some parts of the Philippines after Typhoon Hanna exits PAR.

On Saturday (August 10, 2019), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) released the latest weather updates in the country.

PAGASA reported that the southwest monsoon or locally known as ‘Habagat’ would still bring heavy monsoon rains in most parts of Luzon particularly in Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Central Luzon, Metro Manila, CALABARZON, Batanes and the Babuyan Group of Islands.

The Habagat would also bring cloudy weather conditions with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms are expected over Bicol Region and MIMAROPA. Partly cloudy to cloudy condition with localized thunderstorms are also expected over Visayas and Mindanao in the afternoon and evening.

Typhoon Hanna left the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Friday (August 9, 2019) while Typhoon Krosa remains stationary at 2,025 kilometers east of Basco, Batanes.

The weather agency also informed the public that there is no weather disturbance inside the PAR but Typhoon Hanna continues to enhance the southwest monsoon.

Meanwhile, the weather bureau also warned small sea craft that sea travel remains risky due to rough to very rough coaster water condition.
