The said issue created a loud buzz on social media as photos of Gerald and Julia surfaced online.
They received criticisms from netizens regarding this issue as it is known to many that Gerald is the boyfriend of Bea Alonzo.
On Julia’s part, she and ex-boyfriend Joshua Garcia, already revealed to the JoshLia fans that they are back to being best friends.
Amid the cheating allegations, the family came to her defense. Her mother, Marjorie Barretto said that they were together in a party with friends and the netizen who spread the photos just put malice.
The older sister of Julia, Dani Barretto, also slammed the netizens who already speculated about the cheating issue.
Based on the report from Philippine Entertainment Portal, the father of the young actress, Dennis Padilla, also reacted to this.
A source told PEP that the comedian asked Gerald why his daughter is being blamed for his breakup with Bea Alonzo.
Reportedly, during that conversation, the actor confirmed that he is courting his Between Maybes co-star. Gerald also confirmed that he and Bea already broke up, according to the article.
The source added that the comedian called Gerald in order to know his side of the story. Dennis was prompted to do that as the father of Julia who is taking the blame for Gerald-Bea breakup.
The showbiz site tried to reach to the comedian to hear his side regarding his reported conversation with the actor. However, at the time of writing, Dennis Padilla has not answered yet.
