Latest Updates on Tropical Storm Falcon (July 17) Released by PAGASA

The state weather bureau PAGASA released the latest updates regarding Tropical Storm Falcon as it moves slightly faster towards the Babuyan Islands.

On Wednesday (July 17, 2019), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) released the latest weather updates.

PAGASA reported that Tropical Storm Falcon has maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 80 kph moving 35 kph at a west-northwest direction.

Falcon hits Aparri, Cagayan and currently heading towards Babuyan group of Islands.

The weather agency also raised tropical cyclone wind signals in the following areas:

Signal No.1

  • Ilocos Norte
  • Abra, Kalinga
  • Isabela
  • Mountain Province
  • Ifugao
  • Northern portion of Aurora
  • Northern portion of Nueva Vizcaya
  • Northern portion of Quirino

Signal No. 2

  • Apayao
  • Batanes and Cagayan including Babuyan Group of Islands

The weather disturbance is expected to bring moderate to heavy rains over Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Cavite, Batangas, Occidental Mindoro, northern Palawan including Calamian and Cuyo Islands, Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Iloilo, and Guimaras.

PAGASA also advised the public to take precautionary measures for possible flashfloods and landslides.

Tropical Storm Falcon

The tropical storm is expected to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Friday (July 19, 2019).
