Weeks passed after the incident, Michael Flores, who worked for the 75-year-old woman as helper, admitted the murder due to a robbery attempt, based on ABS-CBN’s report.

However, five years later, the actress shared her journey of healing. Part of it is being a speaker about forgiveness in different organizations.

During her recent guesting on Tonight with Boy Abunda, Cherry Pie shared that she met with the killer of her mother.

“Ngayon ko napatunayan — God really took over. It’s really by his grace that I was able to do it. While I was walking when I was about to see him… Desidido ako pero ang ipinagdarasal ko, sana magawa ko. So I was really praying, ‘Please take over.’ Iba. Hindi ako makapaniwala,” she said.
