Veteran Actor Eddie Garcia Lost 2 Children
EDDIE GARCIA – Veteran actor Eddie Garcia opened up about losing his former son and daughter.
Currently, the Filipino are mourning the death of a legend in the Philippine entertainment industry. At the age of 90, Eddie Garcia died yesterday, June 20, at Makati Medical Center.
Eddie was confined at MMC since June 8 following an accident on the set of Rosang Agimat, his television series under the GMA-7. He tripped on a cable wire during the taping and fell on the ground.
The accident left Eddie Garcia in a comatose state. For more than ten(10) days, the veteran actor was in critical condition at MMC. Prayers were sent for him and his family.
Eddie Garcia was in the showbiz industry for 70 years. He is among the Philippines’ greatest actors with the most number of awards and recognition because of his brilliant works.
Despite his prominence, he has kept his private life in low-key mode. He was in a long-time relationship with businesswoman Lilibeth Romero. She was with him when he breathed his last on Thursday.
Based on a report on Pep, Eddie Garcia had lost a son, and a daughter due to sickness and accident.
Ces Oreña-Drilon previously had an interview with Tito Eddie on ANC’s Pipol. He was asked about his son who died from an accident.
Eddie Garcia generously opened up about losing his son and daughter due to unfortunate causes.
“My son who died was starring, he appeared in two films before, one with Nora [Aunor] and one with Vilma [Santos], the one who had a motorcycle accident,” he said.
According to the veteran actor, his son was 22 years old when he died. His wife died of cancer in 1995. His youngest daughter died at 39 years old. She had a heart attack. With regards to its impact on him, here’s what he said:
“Well, that is inevitable. So, you have to live with it.”
Based on the report, when asked on how he accepted it since it is very painful for a parent to lose a child, Eddie Garcia took a deep breath.
“Well, life must go on,” the veteran actor expressed.
Undeniably, Eddie is one of those whose brilliance has inspired and set an example for a lot of people. Many are thankful for the things he imparted most especially his talent and wisdom.
