Davao Mayor Inday Sara Duterte Claims Pres. Duterte’s Statement Over Car Allegedly Given by Quiboloy Not True
INDAY SARA – Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte denied the claim of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte over the car allegedly given by Apollo Quiboloy.
One of the known religious leaders in the Philippines is Apollo Quiboloy. He was born in Davao City and he claims that he is the appointed one.
Based on a report on GMA News, Quiboloy is one of those who had interviews with President Rodrigo Roa Duterte when the latter was still the mayor of Davao City.
Reportedly, the then Mayor claimed that he tried to return a Ford Expedition given to him by the religious leader. However, his daughter Inday Sara is allegedly against returning it.
To this, the presidential daughter and Davao City Mayor reacted and put down the claims of her father.
Based on the article on GMA News, Davao City Mayor Inday Sara Duterte denied the claim of Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte saying she never saw a car given by Pastor Apollo Quiboloy.
“I never saw [a Ford Expedition] allegedly given by Pastor Quiboloy. The president may have referred to another person with Inday as a name, or he incorrectly remembered events,” she said.
In her statement, the presidential daughter stressed that the claim of her father should have been verified first before it was published. Based on the report, she stated that it’s unfair in her part.
“The problem was it went unchecked and was taken by the media hook, line, and sinker. It was reported as truth,” she said.
Reportedly, in his claim, Pres. Duterte said that he was allegedly given a car after he only had Php 300.00 when he went to the airport. He allegedly returned it to the pastor.
As of this writing, the President has yet to respond to the reaction of his daughter over the issue. We’ll keep you posted for updates.
