Fund for Military & Police Personnel’s Pension Released by DBM

DBM – The Department of Budget and Management released the fund for the pension of the military and police personnel.

The passage of the 2019 budget was delayed. It affected several government agencies and the people working in those agencies.

Meanwhile, recently, a good news for several agencies and departments under the Philippine government crossed the surface.

Based on an article on ABS-CBN News, the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) said that it has already released the budget that will fund the pension of the retired military and police personnel.

Around P54.23 billion was released by the budget department for the pension of the security forces.

Out of the P54.23 billion fund released, P29.9 billion was for the retired members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP). For the retired personnel of the Philippine National Police (PNP), P21.7 billion was released by the budget department.

Around P1.9 billion was released for the pensioners of the Bureau of Fire Protection and P731 million for the retired members of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penalogy.

Based on the report, with regards to the fund for the pension of the retired members of the National Mapping and Resource Information Authority, the agency will have to submit the “Special Budget Request” to the budget department first.

Sen. Panfilo “Ping” Lacson lauded the release of the funds for the pension of the retired members of the security forces.

“No other President has shown such concern for those who served and offered their lives for country and people,” he said.
