DOJ Wants Oriental Mindoro Prosecutor’s Ambush Probed

DOJ – The Department of Justice is calling for investigation on the recent incident that involved Oriental Mindoro Prosecutor Josephine Olivar.

Alarming incidents somehow showing that many people are now not afraid to take another person’s life continue to happen.

Recently, a prosecutor in Oriental Mindoro identified as Josephine Olivar was shot by a still unidentified person outside her house based on a report on Rappler.

According to the police report, Olivar was entering her house in Barangay Bayanan 1 in Calapan City when the incident sparked. She was shot several times and obtain five(5) wounds from the incident.

The Oriental Mindoro Prosecutor was rushed to the MGG Hospital. A computed tomography (CT) was conducted to her as she obtained two(2) wounds in her head.

Based on the report, the suspect was able to escape from the area.

Regarding the incident, the Department of Justice (DOJ) called for a probe on the ambush of Oriental Mindoro Prosecutor Josephine Olivar.

“The Department calls on our law enforcement authorities to investigate this incident that those responsible may be held accountable before the law,” Justice Undersecretary Markk Perete said in a statement.
