Sarah Tiu, Café Editha’s manager always wanted to end the plastic pollution and eliminate the plastic wastes in her resto.

The lady manager initially used paper and stainless straws but the customers didn’t like using those alternatives.

Tiu decided to use lukay straws after her family went to Corregidor Island in Siargao that uses straws made of palm leaves on their fresh buko (Coconut).

The lukay drinking straw is easy to make and decomposable, according to Sarah Tiu.
