4 Senators Including Sen. Pacquiao Expressed Support to Senate President Tito Sotto

PACQUIAO – Philippine Senator Manny Pacquiao revealed that four(4) senators have already expressed their support to Sen. Vicente “Tito” Sotto III as the Senate President.

Following the alleged insinuations sparked by Senators-elect Imee Marcos and Francis Tolentino that there is a need for change in Senate leadership, a resolution was drafted to find out show supports the Senate Pres. Tito Sotto.

It was Sen. Panfilo “Ping” Lacson who drafted the said resolution. According to him, the idea came from Sen. Manny Pacquiao.

Sen. Lacson also expressed that it is also a way for them to determine if Senate Pres. Sotto really has the support of a lot of senators.

Recently, the boxer-turned-senator broke his silence regarding the resolution determining the supporters of the Senate President.

Based on an article on ABS-CBN News, Sen. Manny Pacquiao expressed that four(4) senators have already showed their support to Sen. Tito Sotto as the president of the Senate.

According to the boxer-turned-senator, he, Senators Ping Lacson, Koko Pimentel III, and Gringo Honasan have already signed on the resolution.

Pimentel is a former Senate President who led the Senate before Sen. Sotto sat as the Senate chief.

Based on the report, with regards to the alleged insinuation caused by two(2) elected senators, Sen. Lacson expressed that possibly they are attempting to have a new leader in the Senate or desiring to get a committee chairmanship.
