Some Schools Lack Classrooms To Cater Thousands Of Students In This School Year
LACKING CLASSROOMS – Some schools lack the classrooms to accommodate the huge crowd of returning students in the school year 2019-2020.
In Rizal High School alone, there were 11,000 students who showed up on the first day of school. Six of the students felt lightheaded during the flag ceremony based on the previous report.
Meanwhile, in Batasan Hills National High School – Quezon City, over 15,000 enrollees showed up on the first day.
This school currently has the most number of returning students in all High Schools in Metro Manila.
Approximately, there were 15,327 enrolled students who returned to the school on the first day to attend their resumed classes.
This year’s number is higher than last year’s number by over a thousand students. Last year’s enrollees were only at 14500 students.
The School Principal – Dr. Proceso Lera sees the possible reasons for the increase of the number of students. He said:
“Tumaas talaga. It’s because of the incoming Grade 7. We have different markets here lalo na sa Grade 6 na school no, dito sila pumupunta.”
[It really increased (no. of students). I’ts because of the incoming grade 7. We have different markets here, especially grade 6 schools, they go here.]
Their working schedule was also revealed. The initial shift would start at 6 am and ends at 12:20 pm. The next shift begins at 1 pm and ends by 7:20 pm.
During their brigade eskwela, 600 chair in the campus were also repaired to be used by the students.
These problems has already been observed by the school and they have already prepared for it weeks before.
In Signal Village National High School – Taguig City, their flag ceremony was led by DepEd secretary for Education Leonor Briones.
This is based on a report from GMA News.
The schools management gave their assurance to the public that they have already prepared for the opening of classes. Officials and other personnel were also stationed at the school’s entrance and pedestrian crossing.
Briones plans to inspect the assigned classrooms for grades 8 and 12, and the science laboratory.
She is then set to leave and visit another school in Makati City – the Comembo Elementary school.
That is all there is to it, at least for now. We’ll post updates as soon as we got them.
