DUTERTE – Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte wanted the Commission on Elections (Comelec) to end its contract with Smartmatic.

Following the issues and accusations surrounding the results of the midterm Election 2019, the Philippine President is aspiring for a change in the next political bids.

Based on a recent report on Remate, Pres. Duterte wanted the Comelec to end its contract with Smartmatic as it is “no longer acceptable” to him and to the Filipino people.

According to the report, speaking in front of the Filipino community in Japan, the 74-year-old President expressed that he advises Comelec to look for a replacement of Smartmatic that is “free of fraud”.

“I’d like to advise Comelec now: Dispose of Smartmatic and look for a new one that is free of fraud,” he said based on the report.

According to the President, during the elections with Smartmatic being the partner of Comelec, Liberal Party claims that they were cheated.

Reportedly, he also said that the people do not want Smartmatic as the votes are allegedly not voted.

“Kakatapos lang ng election, palitan na ninyo kasi it is no longer acceptable to me and to the people,” he said.
