Every day, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) records several earthquakes in the different areas in the Philippines.
PH is more prone to quakes compared to other countries because it lies along the Pacific Ring of Fire. The movement of the plates can easily be felt in several parts of the country through the shaking.
It is the Phivolcs that releases bulletins regarding the quakes happening in the different parts of the country. The government agency also issues advisory whenever there is a possibility that a tsunami will hit.
In its bulletin regarding the quakes, Phivolcs state the place where the natural calamity was located and as well as the magnitude.
