Jurisdiction over Police Training Transferred to PNP Following Approval of Pres. Duterte

DUTERTE – Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte approved the law moving the jurisdiction on police training to the Philippine National Police (PNP).

In the Philippines, the police training are administered by the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) and the National Police Training Institute (NPTI).

It is under the jurisdiction of the Philippine Public Safety College (PPSC). But, changes may be expected soon following the approval of the law moving the police training jurisdiction.

Based on a recent social media post on Inquirer, Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte approved the law seeking for the moving of the police jurisdiction from the PPSC to the Philippine National Police (PNP).

The said law is Republic Act No. 11279 or otherwise known as “An Act Transferring the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) and the National Police Training Institute (NPTI) from the Philippine Public Safety College (PPSC) to the Philippine National Police (PNP)”.

As of this writing, there are still no further details regarding the matter.
