The Senator said that he is primarily accountable to the defeat of opposition’s senatorial candidates or the Otso Diretso.

“As campaign manager for the Otso Diretso slate, I was unable to ensure our victory in the elections and I therefore assume full responsibility for the outcome and hold myself primarily accountable for this defeat,” he said.

Based on a previous report, LP secretary-general Kit Belmonte, the reelected congressman of the 6th district of Quezon City, also resigned.

However, VP Robredo, reportedly refused to accept their resignations and they were told to “pick up the pieces”.
