VIDEO – The video exposure of the alleged pre-shaded ballots that went viral could possibly disrepute the system of automated elections.

Cheating allegations on the election day have been coming out lately. There has been several allegations about possible tactics allegedly used in cheating the polling machines to gain an edge.

An IT expert also claimed that the VCM malfunctions could be a misdirection to allow cheating.

Meanwhile, Legal Network for Truthful Elections or LENTE reviewed a viral video from Lanao del Sur allegedly exposing pre-shaded ballots. Lente said on Friday, that the viral video could be a method to dishonor the automated elections.

Rona Ann Caritos, Executive Director of LENTE explained their observation of the scenario in her statement during a conversation with Inquirer:

“‘Yung release kasi ng video is kinda suspect [the release of the video is kind suspected] because … there is a concerted effort to really discredit the integrity of the automated elections system.”

Although, the original source footage was taken down from the internet. The video has already been seen by a lot of netizens. The footage displayed two unknown individuals apparently shading several ballots in Lanao del Sur.

Caritos also claimed that this instance is not the first time that the allegations of pre-shaded ballots appeared during election.

She also said that a lot of people should not be surprised as this happens all the time, insinuations of pre-shaded ballots were also around during the previous elections.

Comelec, on the other hand, still considered probing the issue and assess the viral footage to disprove the alleged cheating in the election period.

Comelec stated last Thursday that they are seeking the assistance of Facebook experts in investigating the case.
