Salvador Panelo Criticized A Political Meme Post On Facebook
PANELO – The presidential spokesperson Salvador Panelo severely criticized political meme posted on a satire page on Facebook.
Memes have been in the trend in the past few years. Memes are mostly edited photos that are supposedly intended to incite laughter.

Memes have been around for quite some time that even the president and his spokesperson was involved in some internet memes last year.
Recently, the satirical Facebook page ‘Malacañang Events and Catering Services’ posted an edited photo (a meme) showing Salvador Panelo seemingly endorsing opposing senatorial candidates.
The original photo was a snapped moment when Salvador Panelo released a diagram showing an ouster plot matrix against the President.
To respond to this, Panelo condemned the ‘malicious use’ of his photo which he dubbed ‘black propaganda’ and ‘political mudslinging’ in his statement:
“It is for this reason that I strongly denounce the malicious use of my image for black propaganda and political mudslinging. This is nothing but false news dished out by the supporters of the political opposition which by its reckoning is headed for a resounding debacle.”
He also claimed that the meme represents the ‘extreme desperation’ of the supporting groups for the opposing parties.
Panelo also revealed the he is aware of the norm of this campaign season which is ‘political memes’ but also explained its equivalence as false information.
This is according to an article from ABS CBN News.
In his statement he said that there are still people who instantaneously believes whatever information they are presented, especially on the internet. False information such as images that are clearly photoshopped, altered or modified to deceive public viewers.
When reading articles on the internet, it is vital that readers assess the presented information by backing it with further research.
The spread of false information can severely affect public trust and opinions towards whatever information is presented on the internet.
That is all there is to it, at least for now. We’ll post updates as soon as we got them.
