60 Bacolod City Inmates Experience Diarrhea

BACOLOD CITY INMATES – Sixty(60) people inside the Metro Bacolod District Jail (MBDJ) suffered from diarrhea.

Undeniably, there are a lot of risks behind the bars aside from the fact that it may gather people from different walks of life. The individuals inside it are bearing different personalities.

Among these other risks is with regards to health. It is no secret to the public that there is intense heat inside the cell and, with regards to personal supplies, lucky are those who have families who visit them constantly and bring them their supplies.

There are inmates who cannot even afford to buy purified water thus they have no choice but to take the available water resources. This may pose some health risks.

Recently, several inmates in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental experienced diarrhea. Their suspected cause is the water they are drinking from the deep well.

Based on a recent report on ABS-CBN News, 60 Bacolod City inmates in MBDJ suffered from diarrhea this month.

According to Sanitary Inspector Jasmin Santiago, the inmates claimed that they are experiencing stomachache whenever they would drink water from the deep well. The said well is also located inside the MBDJ compound.

The City Health Office is not putting down the possibility that it is the cause of the medical condition that affected 60 people. Currently, no one is allowed to drink water from the said well.

Based on the report, jail nurse JO1 Ramel Lagos expressed that nine(9) out of 60 inmates are still being treated as to the records of the City Health Office. Three(3) people are still experiencing stomachache.

Reportedly, the inmates were already given aqua tabs which are placed in their drinking water. They were also given some oral rehydration that is why no one got a severe condition.
