COMELEC Reacts On Ballot Boxes Delivered in Pasig
COMELEC – Commission on Election (COMELEC) spokesperson James Jimenez broke his silence about the ballot boxes with broken seals.
The midterm election will be on May 13 and its just days away before we know the winners of the local and national candidates.
In a previous article, COMELEC spokesperson James Jimenez gave an update regarding the upcoming election.

James Jimenez stated that the COMELEC officials are 90% percent for the midterm election.

Meanwhile, the former Valenzuela City Councilor, Shalani Soledad, took to the social media to report that the ballot boxes that arrived in Pasig City have a broken seal.
Based on a report from Philstar, Soledad seeks advice to the people who has an idea if it’s just okay for the seal to be torn. She’s worried because her husband Roman Rumulo is running for congressman.
She attached photos on her Twitter post as proof that the seals were torn or broken.

According to the report, James Jimenez responded to the query of the netizen. COMELEC spokesperson said he “really cannot say that broken seals in the ballot boxes are the norm.”
He also advised Soledad to check the seal if it was tampered, replaced or broken.

Based on the report, the COMELEC spokesperson also added that those plastic seals might have been damaged during the transport.
“Sticker may have torn during movement of the truck as the ‘lap,’ or the torn edge, appears uneven,” said Jimenez.
