Palace Mum On Reward Money For Eduardo Acierto’s Arrest
PALACE – Malacañang Palace spokesperson Salvador Panelo refuse to answer about the P10-million bounty for Eduardo Acierto’s arrest.
Former police officer Eduardo Acierto was one of the pioneers of anti-drug operative. He became part of the Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Force (AIDSOTF) in 2003.
After being part of the task force, Acierto gained the reputation of being among the Philippine Police Officer’s most experienced anti-drug operatives.
However, Eduardo Acierto’s accomplishments before matched the controversies that torments him now.
Based on a report from Inquirer, the former police officer is on the loose after the Manila court ordered his arrest.
He was allegedly involved on the multibillion-peso illegal drugs smuggling controversy.
Eduardo Acierto tagged the ex-special presidential economic adviser Michael Yang in the trading of illegal substance. His accusations were denied by President Duterte.
Duterte said Yang was a close friend of the Chinese Ambassador Zha Jianhua. The Chinese official can prove that Yang is innocent.
According to the report, the president accused Eduardo Acierto of corruption. He is also responsible for providing firearms owned by the government to communist insurgents.
Meanwhile, the Presidential spokesman Salvador Panelo refused to answer why the Malacañang offered such a huge bounty for the arrest of Eduardo Acierto.
Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra confirmed that Salvador Panelo said he had no idea about the bounty.
“I don’t know, it didn’t come from me … I have no knowledge on that P10-million bounty,” said Panelo.
Based on the report, Salvador Panelo made those remarks after Menardo Guevarra announced that the Malacañang will offer P10 million reward for Eduardo Acierto’s arrest.
