Netizens expressed overwhelming support to the 87-year-old bar taker
Retired Col. Ibarra Mariano, 87 years old, is the oldest bar taker last November 2018 and though he failed to pass, many people showed support to him.
Mariano graduated from law school back in 1967 but he did not take the bar examinations immediately. He served as a policeman and he only had the chance to get the bar exams in 1995.
That year, he retired and started to pursue his dream as a lawyer. He said on a previous report that he wants to be called an attorney before he takes his last breath.
That’s why I took the interest to take it now [while] I can still write, I can still walk around alone,” he said after the exam.
As the Supreme court of the Philippines announced that the Bar Exam result for 2018 will be announced on May 3, many were also hoping that one of them is Ibarra Mariano.
Though the 87-year-old bar taker did not pass, netizens are still proud of him. For them, the retired colonel is an inspiration to the younger generation.
There are those who wished that he will fulfill his dream to be a lawyer next bar exam.
