Based on a report from GMA News, a girl named Fathima was abandoned by her alleged Filipina mother.

The 6-year-old girl was reportedly left behind by her mom to a Pakistani couple in Dubai when she was just 1 year old.

The Pakistani couple took care of her until they encounter trouble with their living and decided to give her to Syed Ali Moazzam.

According to the report, Moazzam wanted to have information about Fathima’s real mother who he believes is still in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). However, the woman denied giving birth to the girl.

“If no one else wants this child I am ready to adopt her and will send her to school and do all that, that’s why I am trying to get documents and that’s why I contacted the newspaper,” said the Pakistani.

A police officer in Ajman referred Moazzam to the Philippine Embassy to ask some details about the child’s nationality.

Philippines Consul General Paul Raymond Cortes said they need a blood sample from a mother or a father to prove that she really is a Filipino.

“We need to prove blood relation in order to ascertain that she is really Filipino, but how can we do that without the mother or the father? Police and public prosecution need to DNA the child,” said Cortes.

The police officers promised that they will not arrest the alleged mother if she gives a DNA sample.

Based on the report, the Pakistani is hoping to send Fathima to school but he’s unable to do so because they have no record of her birth, Emirates ID, a surname, or a Visa. The child also has no proof that she is Filipino.
