Is Nadine Lustre Willing To Play Darna?
NADINE LUSTRE – Kapamilya actress Nadine Lustre spoke up about the possibility of playing ‘Darna.
Kapamilya actress Angel Locsin was supposed to play the Pinay superheroine Darna but she had to back out because of her disc bulge in her spine.
Young actress Liza Soberano was then chosen to play the iconic role. However, she decided to withdraw herself from the project due to her finger injury.
Several celebrities were mentioned to be the next actress to portray the iconic role. They are Jennylyn Mercado, Jessy Mendiola, Kathryn Bernardo, and Angel Locsin among others.
But there is one ABS-CBN talent that won the people’s hearts and that is Nadine Lustre.
In a previous article, filmmaker Erik Matti said she’s perfect and fit to play such a strong role.
“Ang feeling ko lang, si Nadine ‘yung babagay talaga sa tipo niya, sa tipo na role ni Darna…”
“Hindi talaga pupuwede ‘yung model-model, para sa akin, ha? Hindi puwede ang beauty queen.” he said.
Based on a report from PEP, Nadine Lustre said she’s open to the possibility of playing the role of ‘Darna’ after Liza Soberano and Angel Locsin backed out.
“Yeah, I’m open… It’s nice, it’s a good opportunity, it’s a good project, so who’s open for it?” said Nadine.
According to the report, Nadine Lustre said if the Star Cinema think she’s fit for the role, they will eventually give it to her.
“I mean, if it’s meant for me, sa akin po ibibigay. But like what I’ve said before, I know that the project is going to be given to someone who can give justice to the role.”
“It does not have to be me, as long as mabigyan ng justice. I know naman that everyone is going to pick the right one,” she added.
Based on the report, the actress also expressed herself for being the third choice to play Darna if ever.
“I don’t think it’s bad to be a third choice. I mean, you know, pwede rin naming it’s not the right time or it’s not the right project for them, so I don’t think it matters,” she said.
The actress clearly wants what’s best for the most-anticipated movie. She could say ‘yes’ but she is also happy for anybody to have the role.
