MAYON VOLCANO – The photo of Mayon Volcano crowned with ‘salakot-like’ clouds went viral on social media.
The Philippines has several active volcanoes that are located in different parts of the country.
Among the most active volcanoes in the country is the Mayon in Albay, Taal in Batangas, Kanlaon in Negros, Bulusan in Sorsogon and Smith in Calayan.
The Mount Mayon in Albay is renowned as the “perfect cone” due to its well-portioned conical shape.
The active volcano is located in Southeastern Luzon which name is derived from the Bicolano word “Magayon” meaning ‘beautiful.’
In a previous article, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) shared the latest aerial photos of the volcano.
However, aircraft are advised not to pass close to the volcano’s summit because of the ash emission and unexpected eruptions.
Mayon Volcano is considered one of the top tourist destination in the country. People can’t help but admire the magnificent beauty of the active volcano.
Meanwhile, UNTV shared a photo of the famous volcano on their Facebook account that immediately went viral.
What made the Mayon Volcano interesting is that a “salakot-like” clouds crowned its perfect cone.
