Kapamilya actress Liza Soberano tearfully announced her exit from the upcoming Darna movie and Star Cinema is currently searching for the next actress who will play the role.

Liza, obviously, was devastated upon pouring her emotion during a recent interview. Unfortunately, she has to give up the iconic role due to an injury in her finger.

Based on a previous report, the actress apologized that she has to withdraw from the project.

Following this announcement, several netizens expressed their various controversial reactions.

Some said that the project was really wrong from the start. First, it is supposed to be Angel Locsin who will play the Darna role but her back injury hindered her to continue.

Then, former director of the project Erik Matti resigned due to creative differences.

And now, Liza Soberano is quitting and Star Cinema needs to find her replacement.

Part of the official statement from ABS-CBN stated that the preparation for the movie still continues and that they already started the collection process.

The Kapamilya network along with its film franchise also stated that they understand the decision of Liza Soberano, based on the report.

“ABS-CBN and Star Cinema understand Liza’s condition, respect her decision, and wish her well on her recovery.”
