Regardless of the debate whether this trait of the President is an advantage or disadvantage, he is immovable to his conviction to speak up.

One of the recent statements of Duterte that caught the attention of may people was when he said that the public does not owe anything to politicians.

The Chief Executive stressed out the salary of government officials come from the money of Filipino taxpayers.

“Kaya huwag kayong magsabi na ito si mayor ano, mag – galante. Anak ng jueteng, hindi niyo alam saan ‘yan bumabawi,” President Duterte said.

Based on the report from GMA, the former Davao City Mayor stated this during his speech at the PDP-Laban campaign rally in Malabon City. He was discussing this fight against corruption.

He also said, “Remember, they do not function na gastos nila. Wala akong nakita na politiko na gumastos ng sariling pera para ibigay sa tao. Inyo ‘yan. Galing sa bulsa ninyo ‘yan.”

Then, Duterte admitted that he is having a hard time in his fight against corruption in the whole country.

“Pero ako istrikto sa corruption. But itong Cabinet members, Executive department, ‘yung ako, Congress, Supreme Court, ‘yun po ‘yung opisina ko, kaya ko ‘yan,” the President said.

However, he said that he has no control anymore to officials in lower positions, based on the report.
