Cory Quirino, Ogie Alcasid Join Forces For Mutya Ng Pilipinas Pageant
CORY QUIRINO – Tv personality Cory Quirino and Ogie Alcasid collaborate for the new Mutya Ng Pilipinas pageant.
Tv host and beauty pageant titleholder Socorro Alicia “Cory” Rastrollo Quirino was the former national director of Miss World Philippines from 2011 to 2016.
She revealed why she left as the director of Miss World. The host said she felt bad when Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray lost in Miss World last December 2016.
The fans of the pageant believed that it was Cory Quirino’s way of protesting on the Miss World 2016 result.
Good thing the Filipina-Australian beauty queen did not lose hope and triumphed as the fourth Miss Universe 2018.
Based on a report from Manila Bulletin, Cory Quirino is the new President of Mutya Ng Pilipinas. The said pageant is one of the longest-running beauty contest in the Philippines.
“Why I have returned to pageantry is for one reason alone. What I long intended to accomplish in 2011 was left unfinished – that of discovering the Hometown Girl,” said Cory.
According to the report, Cory Quirino will be supported by Fred Yuson as Chairman while Ogie Alcasid as the Board of Director.
“With the full support of our dynamic Chairman Fred Yuson and the artistic expertise of Ogie Alcasid, I am confident that, together, we will take Mutya ng Pilipinas to the next level,” said Cory.
Based on the report, Cory Quirino will focus on prospering and developing the Mutya Ng Pilipinas.
“Mutya ng Pilipinas deserves nothing less than the continuance of its national tradition but with brighter dreams for aspiring candidates.”
“We will discover talented candidates who will be given the chance to become a movie star, model or career woman,” she added.
