Sandiganbayan Grants Napoles, Estrada’s Request for Filing of Plunder Case Dismissal

NAPOLES – Controversial businesswoman Janet Lim Napoles and former Senator Jinggoy Estrada were allowed by Sandiganbayan to file for the dismissal of the plunder case against them.

Until now, the issue surrounding the controversial Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) Scam has not yet come to an end. Certain cases related to the matter are still ongoing.

Among the people who are allegedly involved in the multi-billion scam are businesswoman Janet Lim Napoles and former Senator Jinggoy Estrada.

It was in September 2017 when former Sen. Estrada was released after posting a bail of P1.33 million. He was detained for more than three(3) years.

Recently, a news report regarding the alleged involvement of former Sen. Estrada and controversial businesswoman Janet Lim Napoles to the PDAF scam crossed the surface.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the Sandiganbayan 5th Division allowed Napoles and former Sen. Estrada to file a demurrer to evidence to seek for the dismissal of the plunder case against them.

The Court approved the motion for leave of court filed by the two(2) accused of involvement in one of the biggest scams in the history of the Philippines.

Based on the report, in case the demurrer to evidence filed by the former Senator and the businesswoman is junked, they can still defend themselves by presenting documents and testimonials.
