3 Popular Senator Tagged By Janet Lim-Napoles In PDAF Scam

Janet Lim-Napoles implicates 3 popular senators on the controversial multibillion-peso Priority Development Assistant Fund (PDAF) scam.

Napoles was the alleged mastermind of the controversial pork barrel or PDAF scam. She mentioned the name of former budget secretary Florencio Abad and also tagged 3 senators including Franklin Drilon, Antonio Trillanes IV, and Leila de Lima.

Stephen Davie, the lawyer of Napoles has also revealed everything to Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II regarding the multibillion-peso pork barrel fund scam during a press conference. He also mentioned another cabinet officials yet to be named and other senators.

“These lawmakers, they are saying, were involved in the scheme similar to the original PDAF offenses where they used Napoles’ NGOs (non-government organizations) or corporations to get funds.” And “I believe they were already enumerated during the previous administration but were not included because they were supposed to be (in the) succeeding batches that never came,” said by Aguirre quoted by Philstar.

Aguirre said that the pork barrel fund anomaly was carried out while De Lima was not a senator. He also said that Napoles would confirm De Lima’s involvement in the PDAF scam if her affidavit was finalized.

The senator has also refused to give the names of other senators and other government officials. He explained that the implications should directly come from Napoles, whose camp is already planning to file criminal charges against the corrupt officials.

Napoles was accused of alleged misuse of PDAF by former and incumbent lawmakers. Numerous charges were filed against her including plunder, multiple cases of graft, malversation of public funds, falsification and direct bribery.
