Work Operations of MRT-3 Suspended During Holy Week 2019
MRT-3 – The Metro Rail Transit will suspend its work operations during the Holy Week 2019 which will be on April 15 until April 21, 2019.
One of the major public transportation in Metro Manila is the Metro Rail Transit or more commonly called as “MRT-3″. Every day, thousands of Filipinos are getting to their destinations through the transit.
Due to the every day heavy operations and to make sure that the trips are safe, general maintenance works should be implemented. Currently, there is an upcoming maintenance work that is scheduled next month.
Based on a report on Inquirer, MRT-3 recently announced that it will suspend its operations during the Holy Week 2019 for the general maintenance works.
The Holy Week 2019 will fall on April 15 (Holy Monday) until April 21 (Easter Sunday).
According to the management, the general maintenance works which is done annually will include “rail grinding, rail cascading, replacement of turnouts, and structural testing.
Furthermore, based on the report, aside from the aforementioned tasks, general maintenance works on the trains, the subsystems, and the electrical systems will also be done during the suspension of operation.
