Based on a report on Manila Bulletin, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte ordered the release of water from Angat Dam to provide a 150-day water supply to the affected residents in Metro Manila.
In a statement, Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo reportedly expressed that the President ordered Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS) to demand water from Manila Water Company, Inc., Maynilad Water Services, Inc. and other offices responsible on the matter.
Based on the report, the President will personally go to the responsible offices in case they will fail to provide water for the affected residents in Metro Manila.
“The President will personally go to them and make the responsible officers account for such failure,” Panelo expressed.

Based on the report, Panelo raised the possibility that the water shortage issue is “artificial” as Maynilad was not facing the same problem with Manila Water although they have the same supply.
“I said it could be just inefficiency, mismanagement. In that case, it’s only an artificial shortage because if the source is full and another concessionaire is also full,” the Presidential spokesperson said.
As of this writing, there are still no further details regarding the implementation of the order of Pres. Duterte. We’ll keep you posted for updates.
