DOST SCHOLARSHIP – Here are the processes, qualifications, and requirements you need to know in order to avail the program.

Bright minds are just everywhere, however, some of them could not avail to have proper education and finish a course they would like to take and be the person they have always wanted. But there goes the scholarship programs that aid students to finish their studies and eventually become successful individuals. And one of the prominent program is the Department of Science and Technology – Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) Scholarship Program.

How to be a DOST Scholar?

Interested applicant must take and pass their examination first

  • Exams are composed of questions – easy to difficult ones
  • Taker must have intensive review before taking the examination

Qualifications:

  • A natural-born Filipino citizen
  • Applicant’s economic status must not exceed the set values for DOST scholarship
  • Applicant must one of the 5% of the Non-STEM Strand senior high school graduating class or a member of the STEM Strand senior high school graduating class
  • A resident of the municipality for 4 years
  • Your health and moral characters are in good status
  • The applicant must pass the Science and Technology Scholarship Examination

School Placement

  • Enrolled at State Universities and Colleges (SUC)
  • Private higher education institutions recognized by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) as Centers of Excellence (COE) or Centers of Development (COD) for the priority S&T programs
  • Institutions with Level III accreditation from Federation of Accrediting Agencies of the Philippines (FAAP) for the priority S&T programs

Requirements

  • DOST scholar including the parents or guardian must abide the rules and regulations as well as the agreement
  • Must maintain a grade in order to stay in the program
  • You must serve the country after graduation for the same years you have been in the scholarship

  • Book allowance (Php 10,000.00)
  • Monthly living allowance
  • Transportation allowance
  • Group health and accident insurance
  • MS/PE uniform allowance (Php 500.00 – First Year)
  • Summer classes if required by curriculum (Php 1,500.00)
