Zambales Hit by Earthquake with 5.2 Magnitude
EARTHQUAKE – The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) recorded a 5.2 magnitude quake in Zambales this afternoon, February 23, 2019.
Most of the time, quakes hit with no prior signs. Recently, several places in and out of the Philippines were shaken by quakes of different magnitudes.
One of the latest quakes recorded by Phivolcs is the 7.1 magnitude quake in Davao Oriental. There were expected aftershocks due to the said quake and a tsunami advisory was released.
Recently, Phivolcs recorded a quake in a part of Zambales. Today, February 23, 2019, Zambales was hit by an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.2.
According to Phivolcs, the quake that hit a part of Zambales was located 14.91°North, 119.88°East – 023 km South 78° West of San Antonio at 12:14:40 in the afternoon today.
The quake was tectonic in origin and it has a 025 km.
Based on the bulletin released by Phivolcs, Olongapo, Zambales felt Intensity III.
Phivolcs stated in its bulletin regarding the recent quake in Zambales that there is no expected damage and aftershocks of the said quake.
