UP, DLSU among the Top Universities In Asia-Pacific.

TOP UNIVERSITIES – The University of the Philippines (UP) and the De La Salle University (DLSU) are among the top institutions of Asia-Pacific.

Times Higher Education finally released the Asia-Pacific University Ranking to show growth when it comes to the higher sector education. And two of the leading universities from the country got included in the list.

According to the “Times Higher Education” website, the University of the Philippines (UP) ranked 101st to 110th in this year’s ranking to which was a big jump from its previous ranking last year, 151st to 160th. Its overall world ranking is 501st to 600th.

Meanwhile, La Salle landed on 201st to 250th spot and 801st to 1000th rank in the overall world ranking. DLSU joined the UP in the list of best universities in the Asia Pacific last September 2018.

Numerous of universities from across East Asia, South-east Asia, and Oceania were analysed to make the THE’s Asia-Pacific University Ranking 2019.

Japan had the most institutions featured with 103 universities, China on second place with 72 and other countries with most numbered universities in the ranking are Australia (35 universities), Taiwan (32), South Korea (29) and Thailand (14).

Accordingly to PhilStar, the performance indicators were grouped into five such as: teaching (learning environment), research (volume, income and reputation), citations (research influence), international outlook (staff, students and research) and industry income (knowledge transfer).
