Erin Tañada receives criticisms for his handshake photo with a fish vendor
Election 2019 — Otso Diretso senatorial candidate Erin Tañada received criticisms from netizens for his handshake photo with a fish vendor.
As the midterm election is fast approaching, candidates from different political parties are starting to get the attention of voters, especially the “masa” or those who belong to the poor families.

A new set of criticisms was thrown to one senatorial candidate from the said group.
The photo of Erin Tañada circulated online and caught the attention of many netizens.
In the photo, the lawyer and former Deputy Speaker of the Philippine House of Representatives was in a market and was shaking the hand of a female fish vendor.
It can be seen in the photo that instead of holding the hand of the vendor, which is the usual handshake gesture, Tañada was actually holding the wrist of the woman.
With this, netizens criticized him. There are those who said that he is pretentious while others questioned his sincerity.
Some netizens also expressed their interpretation about the photo of the senatorial candidate.
There were also some netizens who called out to other netizens not to vote politicians with questionable intentions.
