The businessman who was gunned down in EDSA is the husband of this actress-singer.
BUSINESSMAN – The slain businessman in an ambush at EDSA is the husband of this singer-actress, special task force was already formed for investigation.
A businessman was recently killed in ambush in EDSA at around 3:30 pm. Aside from the slain businessman, his driver also got killed and another female passenger was wounded and currently still recovering. The ambush happened last Sunday in Mandaluyong City.
The slain businessman was identified as Jose Luis Yulo who is 62 years old, his driver is Allan Nomer Santos, and the wounded woman is Esmeralda Ignacio. Reportedly, they have come from a drag racing event at Clark International Speedway in Angeles City, Pampanga.
Based on the report from CNN, the angle that the authorities are seeing now as a motive of the crime is business and not political as the victim has chains of businesses.
Mandaluyong City Police Chief PSSupt Moises Villaceran said that the businessman is the target. He said, “He has a lot of businesses in Metro Manila and Laguna. We are now looking baka ito ay related to his business.”
He further added, “Ang target na nakita namin is Mr. Yulo. Aside from that, the allegation na meron siyang kagalit.”
Now, after this hit the news report, it has been found out that the killed businessman is the husband of the theater actress Menchu Lauchengco-Yulo.
Menchu is one of the most prominent in the field and has actually appeared in “Ang Larawan” and she is also a part of the musical “Ang Huling El Bimbo”. She is the sister of the singer-actor Raymond Lauchengco as per PEP’s report.
