The President made the announcement during the initial campaign rally of the ruling PDP-Laban party in San Jose del Monte City, Bulacan on Thursday, based on the report from Inquirer.
Duterte said, “Nandoon siya (Estrada) eh. Alang-alang naman na hindi ko siya… Even for just one single day masabihan mo ng kandidato mo 13 lahat. What is that to a friend? We know that he has suffered. We know that he was in prison.”
He said this before the press in Bulacan and during the initial campaign rally he never mentioned the name of Jinggoy Estrada in his two-hour speech.
Based on the report, the Senate slate of the administration only now has 11 candidates.
