Zamboanga Del Norte Hit by Earthquake with 3.5 Magnitude

EARTHQUAKE – The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) recorded a 3.5 magnitude quake in Zamboanga Del Nortel this morning, February 8, 2019.

Most of the time, quakes hit with no prior signs. Recently, several places in and out of the Philippines were shaken by quakes of different magnitudes.

One of the latest quakes recorded by Phivolcs is the 2.4 magnitude quake in La Union. There were no expected damage or aftershock due to the said quake.

Recently, Phivolcs recorded another quake in PH. Today, February 8, 2019, Zamboanga Del Norte was hit by an earthquake with a magnitude of 3.5.

According to Phivolcs, the quake that jolted a part of Zamboanga Del Norte was located 08.51°North, 122.99°East – 011 km South 85° West of Manukan at 02:54:11 am.

The quake was tectonic in origin and it has a 014 km. depth of focus. According to Phivolcs, Intensity III was felt in Manukan, Zamboanga del Norte.

Phivolcs stated in its bulletin regarding the quake in Zamboanga del Norte that there are no expected aftershocks and damages caused by the quake.
