Reason Behind Withdraw of the Senatorial Candidacy of Harry Roque
HARRY ROQUE – Former presidential spokesperson Harry Roque revealed the reason behind his withdrawal of his senatorial candidacy in the 2019 election.
The Commission on Elections (Comelec) recently released the final list of senatorial candidates for the 2019 election. The local and national bid will take place in May.
In the list released by the Comelec, 63 names remained out of more than 70 candidates in the partial list released a week ago.
Following the releasing of the final list, one candidate withdrew his senatorial candidacy for the upcoming 2019 election. The said candidate is former presidential spokesperson Harry Roque.
Through a Facebook post, Harry Roque announced his withdrawal of his senatorial candidacy. He also revealed the reason behind his decision to cancel his election bid.
Roque cited his health as the reason. According to the former presidential spokesperson, he recently undergone a heart operation and came to deal with his real physical situation.
Meanwhile, he expressed his gratitude to everyone who supported his candidacy. According to him, he wanted to run for senator as he wanted to serve in a way he knows best.
Roque also stated that regardless of what others may think, those he has worked
Harry Roque assured that despite the withdrawal of his candidacy for senator in the 2019 election, he will continue to support President Rodrigo Roa Duterte and his administration.
