Journey and Contributions of Pepe Smith in the Rock Music Industry

PEPE SMITH – Filipino rock icon Pepe Smith who recently died has an excellent journey and contributions in the rock music industry.

This morning, January 28, 2019, the daughter of rock icon Pepe Smith, Daisy Smith-Owen, confirmed that her father died. She took to the social media a heartfelt message for the late rock icon.

In her Facebook post, Daisy expressed her thanks to Pepe for everything and being the best father. She stated that she knows he’s the best place now where there are no pains. She also expressed her love for her dad.

The family of the late rock icon has yet to reveal the cause of his death. In November 2017, Pepe was rushed to the hospital due to stroke.

As soon as the news about his death broke out, lots of netizens expressed their sadness and sympathy to his family over his passing. Here are some of the comments on Pepe’s daughter’s post:

Undeniably, Pepe Smith had a wonderful journey in the rock music industry and has a lot of contributions in the field. He was a former member of the hit Pinoy band Juan Dela Cruz.

He and his band released Himig Natin in 1973, Maskara in 1974, Super Session in 1975, and Kahit Anong Mangyari in 1981. After some time with his band, Pepe went solo.

As a solo artist, he was able to release an album entitled Idiosyncrasies. He also made his own band before, The Airwaves with Jun Lopito, Gil Cruz, Gary Perez, and Edmon Fortuno is his band co-members.

With regards to his personal life, Pepe Smith was born December 25, 1947 to Pampanga native Conchita Feliciano and United States serviceman Edgar William Smith.

The rock icon has five(5) children – Queenie, MYX VJ Sanya Smith, Beebop, Desiderata, and Delta.
