Metro Manila Police Remains in Full Alert Status Following Jolo Church Incidents

JOLO CHURCH – The recent incidents in Jolo, Sulu Cathedral prompted the police in Metro Manila to be on full alert status.

Alarming incidents recently happened in a cathedral in Jolo, Sulu. Two consecutive “blasts” took place on Sunday, January 27, 2019, in Jolo cathedral.

The first incident happened before 9:00 o’clock in the morning. Government troops came in the area to secure it. Another incident that happened at the gate of the church then followed.

Based on a report in Rappler, following the Jolo church incidents, the Metro Manila police were ordered to go on a full alerts status. It means intensified checkpoints, searches, and operations are going to be observed.

According to National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Chief Guillermo Eleazar, the full alert status of the Metro Manila cops started at 6:00 o’clock in the morning today, January 28, 2019.

The incident that took place at the Jolo cathedral left at least 100 people injured and 20 people dead. The police remain to be in a full alert status until now.

According to the report, it is not the first time that such incident happened at the Jolo cathedral. However, it is eyed to be the worst as it occurred inside the cathedral.
