The Kapamilya drama anthology has brought countless heart-warming stories to Pinoy television viewers.
It has also become a venue for ordinary individuals to share their extra-ordinary stories to other people.
The upcoming episode of the show, hosted by veteran actress ABS-CBN Executive Charo Santos-Concio, features the tandem of Ahron Villena and Ritz Azul.
At first look, no one will think there is something unusual with their team up. However, the teaser of MMK showed an unconventional love story.
Ahron plays the character of Michael “Mitch” Talao, a transgender woman while Ritz plays the role of a lesbian.
The episode has the title Rainbow Love as these to members of LGBT community fell in love with each other.
The “tiis-ganda” moments
Ahron revealed that he did some “tiis-ganda” things for his role.
“Nahirapan po ako sa paglalagay ng packaging tape noong first day of taping,” he shared to PEP’s reporter Jerry Olea.
The actor added “Nagsugat po yung magkabilang gilid ko. Nagtubig. Hindi ko po kaya yung sakit kaya gumawa sila ng paraan noong second day.”
This is aside from the fact that he had to wear a wig and makeup of a woman.
When asked if he had apprehensions in accepting the role,
At first he thought that he might not give justice to the role.
“Nung una po, nag-alinlangan ako. Kasi, hindi ko alam kung kaya kong gawin. First time kong gumawa ng transgender na role. Pero naisip ko kasi, first work ko for 2019 at maganda ang role na ibinigay at ipinagkatiwala sa akin ng MMK, kaya tinanggap ko,” he said.
Talking about his onscreen partner, the actor said that Ritz Azul is easy to work with.
They already had the chance to work with each other when they were still in TV5 and in an indie film.
Magaan po yung trabaho namin, kasi, hindi na kami naiilang. Nagtulungan po kami lalo na sa mga mabibigat na eksena,” Ahron said, based on the report.
