SAMPALOC – A woman was arrested after she attempted to impersonate a barangay chairman in the district of Sampaloc in the city of Manila.

When the police came and tried to arrest the impersonator, Par attempted to resist arrest, denouncing their claims. Her relatives tried to talk and prevent the police from arresting Par but to no avail. Even so, Par continued to resist arrest, claiming she was a well-known chairman.

According to P01 Michelle Digman, Par still claims that she was the chairman but the Court ordered the police to arrest her for 2 counts of usurpation of authority.

This was backed up by the actual chairman of Barangay 526 Aniceta Co, who filed against Par for suspening her and took over. Co further added that Par did not leave the hall and issued barangay certificates to various people.

As per the report, the Manila Barangay Bureau clarified that the case against Co was cleared and the takeover of Par was illegal since she was not elected chairman. Bureau Director Rainier Inovero said that the citizens must trust and believe Co since she was the official elected chairman of Barangay 526.

With Par arrested, Co will return to the Barangay Hall and remove everything that is related to Par.
