Cebu City’s annual celebration of the Sinulog festival is one of the much-awaited feasts in the Philippines. A lot of people participate in the event especially the Roman C
They celebrate in honor of the Child Jesus or the Santo Niño. Some places in the country also have their own version of Sinulog like Butuan City, Misamis Oriental, and Kabankalan among others.
Along with the devotees, the youngsters went to the fun street parties after hearing the holy mass at the Basilica Minore del Santo Niño.
To start the Sinulog Festival, there is an annual fluvial procession in which the devotees accompany the Sto. Niño statue from Mactan going to the Sto. Niño church.
Sinulog festival won’t be complete without the fluvial parade. Thousands of devotees rode on boats and ships ornamented with an image of the child Jesus and lots of flowers.
The fluvial parade was also accompanied by musicians with their amazing drumbeats, trumpets and sirens.

On this photo, it can be seen that the ship was almost wrapped with beautiful flowers while the Sto. Niño statue is placed in the center of the vessel.
