Makati Subway Project Displays Opportunity in the ‘Build Build Build’ Program of the Government

MAKATI SUBWAY – The Makati Subway project inspires private sectors to participate in the ‘Build Build Build’ program of the government.

Build Build Build Program is a project of the Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte. The goal of the project is to create a better road, buildings, and organized structures.

Building thes infrastructures could help the country have better operations on their business and could lessen poverty.

Because of the “Build Build Build” program, President Duterte achieved the highest Gross Domestic Product GDP compared to the past administrations.

The project was so far the most-high priced project in the history of the country. The government will spend 4.4 trillion pesos.

Part of the multi-million program is the Makati Subway that had its groundbreaking ceremony last December 2018. The project will cost USD 3.7-billion and expected to be functional in 2023.

Based on the report from ABS-CBN, the Makati Subway project includes 10 train stations that have 12 coaches. The train could accommodate 27,000 passengers and 40,000 during peak hours.

The President of Philippine Infradev Holdings Inc., Antonio Tiu, said this project should encourage more firms to join the ‘Build Build Build’ program.

“I believe in every crisis there’s an opportunity, and in the Philippines, at the moment we are almost in a chaotic transport situation,” said Tiu.

According to the report, Antonio Tiu stated that the Makati Subway project plays a big role in inspiring private sectors to participate to finish the project earlier than expected.

“The private sector can drive things with more flexibility and more accountability and at a faster speed,” he said.

Based on the report, Antonio Chiu announced that this government project enables foreign investors to take part. He is certain that this collaboration could also help their business.

“I would like to really stress that this [national] government is open to foreign investment and our project. We are planning it in a way that it will link directly with the national transport network,” said Antonio.
