Latest Update: Fundraising for the Bodies of the Filipino Couple Drowned in Maldives Stopped
FILIPINO COUPLE DROWNED IN MALDIVES – The fundraising to bring home the bodies of Leomer and Erika Joyce Lagradilla back to the Philippines is stopped according to the latest update.
Countless hearts were broken when the sad news about the unexpected passing of a Filipino couple drowned in Maldives crossed the surface. They were identified as Leomer and Erika Joyce Lagradilla.
Leomer and Erika officially tied the knot on December 18, 2018 after years of being in a relationship. They have already known each other since they were in high school.
In the early part of January 2019, Leomer and Erika Joyce Lagradilla flew to Maldives for their honeymoon. Recently, their family and friends were left with a sad news that the Filipino couple drowned and passed away.
More than Php 1.2 million is needed to bring home the remains of the Filipino couple who drowned in Maldives. Their bestfriends organized a fundraising campaign for them.
Meanwhile, based on the latest update posted by Jinelle Lagasca, the fundraising campaign for the Filipino couple is stopped following the family’s positive meeting with the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).
Based on the post, the sister of Leomer has informed last night that the DFA will shoulder the expenses in bringing home the remains of the couple to the Philippines.
Currently, they are awaiting the confirmation of the father of Leomer as he is set to meet with the DFA Undersecretary today. The proceeds gathered from the fundraising will be given to the family of the couple.
Citing the testimonials, both of the Filipino couple are breadwinners of their families based on the post. They were in a long distance relationship for six(6) years for work.
