2 To 4 Storms Are Expected To Enter PAR in First Half of the Year, PAGASA Says

The state weather bureau PAGASA announces that two up to four storms are expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) until June 2019.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported that the about two to four tropical cyclones could enter the country’s vicinity in the first half of the year.

The weather agency’s announcement came after PAGASA released the official list of tropical cyclone names this year.

PAGASA named the tropical cyclones as Amang, Betty, Chedeng, Dodong, Egay, Falcon, Goring, Hanna, Ineng, Jenny, Kabayan, Liwayway, Marilyn, Nimfa, Onyok, Perla, Quiel, Ramon, Sarah, Tisoy, Ursula, Viring, Weng, Yoyoy and Zigzag.

The weather bureau has also prepared an auxiliary list of tropical cyclone names if the storms exceed 25.

  • Abe
  • Berto
  • Charo
  • Dado
  • Estoy
  • Felion
  • Gening
  • Herman
  • Irma
  • Jaime

There are four sets of tropical cyclone names used by PAGASA every year.
