Class Suspensions on January 9, 2019 (Wednesday)
Mayor Joseph Estrada has declared class suspensions in public and private schools throughout the entire City of Manila.
Manila City Administrator Atty. Ericson Alcovendaz said that Mayor Joseph Estrada announced class suspensions on January 9, 2019 (Wednesday).
Alcovendaz said that the class suspensions in the City of Manila were declared to allow the Filipino Catholic devotees to participate on the Feast of the Black Nazarene.
The classes in public and private schools have been canceled due to the annual religious event expected to be attended by million of Filipino devotees.
Pista ng itim na Nazareno or also known as “Traslacion” is celebrated every January 9 of every year that usually lasts up to 20 hours.
The Feast of the Black Nazarene is one of the largest procession drawing millions of devotees who believe that the wooden image was allegedly performing miracles.
