PNP Cancels Permits of Iloilo Mayor Oscar Garin, Son’s To Own Firearm
ILOILO MAYOR OSCAR GARIN – The Philippine National Police (PNP) cancelled the permit of Guimbal Mayor Oscar Garin and his son, Representative Richard Garin, to own a firearm.
Mayor Garin and Rep. Garin may possibly face charges over the alleged “mauling” of a police officer in the person of SPO3 Federico Macaya Jr. The police officer allegedly obtained scratches from the alleged “mauling”.
On his part, the Representative stressed that their actions were products of disappointment. They do not agree with the settlement made by Macaya on an alleged “mauling” incident during an event in Iloilo.
The victim of the said reportedly refused to file charges against the suspect as the police officer has settled the issue.

Recently, an update about the issue crossed the surface. According to Inquirer, the PNP cancelled the permits of Iloilo Mayor Oscar Garin and Rep. Richard Garin to own firearms.
Based on the social media post of Inquirer, the permits of the two politicians to possess firearms are also cancelled.
